Test and tag for construction and trade businesses
Trade gear lives in the back of a ute. Tools, leads and portable RCDs are loaded, unloaded and used in all weather, so they wear faster than equipment that stays put.
We test your portable equipment and keep records that follow each item, wherever it ends up working.

Trade equipment we test
The portable gear that moves between jobs:
- Drills, grinders, saws and other power tools
- Extension leads and cable reels
- Power boards and adaptors
- Portable RCDs and RCD-protected leads and power boxes
- Battery chargers
- Site lighting and transformers
- Three-phase leads and adaptors
Bring the gear to one place for testing, or tell us where it is spread across your yard or sites, and we will plan the visit.

Testing that fits around your jobs
Gear that is out on jobs all week is easiest to test when it comes back to the yard. Tell us when your tools are in one place and we will work to that.
If equipment is spread across sites, give us the addresses and access requirements, such as inductions or permits, and we will confirm what is possible.
Plan testing around your jobsConstruction sites have their own requirements
Equipment used on construction and demolition sites has separate testing requirements, set out in AS/NZS 3012. Site rules and contracts can add more.
Tell us if your equipment is used on construction sites and we will confirm the testing requirements before booking. Testing your portable equipment does not cover fixed wiring or a site's own electrical installation.

Records that follow your gear
Each item gets a barcoded record of its result and next scheduled test date, so you can show a site manager what was tested.
Failed items are tagged out of service and recorded, so they do not end up back on a job by mistake.
